Perhaps as girls, we didn't appreciate all the work that goes into being a mother. The dedication, the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the love... it's impressive everything you do for us. Mother's Day is approaching and this occasion deserves a great celebration! So, this one is for you, Mom. Thank you.

Dear Mom:

You weren't expecting it. What a surprise! With my brother just over half a year old, you found out you were going to have another baby. A baby girl. I can imagine your face of happiness and surprise upon finding out. Afterwards came the first little kicks, where I was already making my presence felt. Once we were able to meet, there were no other arms that gave me as much affection as yours. I don't remember it, but I feel it in my heart. Watching me laugh, grow, talk, play, or walk was what fulfilled you and made you the happiest mother. I have always been a very good girl and I have a strong suspicion that it was thanks to you. You instilled in me the values of responsibility and obedience. For us, it was easy to cultivate the great relationship that we enjoy to this day. Thank you, Mom. You have always conveyed to me how proud you are of me, of my achievements, of my way of life, and I want you to know that it has been thanks to you. Growing up seeing sustainability as something normal and logical has made me arrive where I am today. The first pieces of jewelry you gave me (and most of which I still treasure with emotion and fond memories) have brought me here. At the time you didn't know it, but I was going to unite two wonderful worlds like jewelry and sustainability linked to human rights.

You have always been there with your carrot muffins accompanied by their cloth napkin. You have listened to me and made me feel supported. You went out of your way to teach me your world full of values, love, and contribution to others. For me, that is priceless. Nowadays, I am able to understand you, Mom. Now I am aware of the daily effort required to become an adult. Even more so if you are a mother of three little gems, like me. To this day, you have been "shaping" me to be the woman I am: a dreamer, hardworking, and willing to share all the love I can with others. I must confess that when people ask me how I manage to do it all, I always think of you and the other people who support me and my project. It is about organization, of course, but also support as great as yours. You have always believed in me. Thank you, Mom. For all this and more. There are no possible lifetimes to thank you for it, and I hope that my little gems are as proud of me as I am of you. We may not be able to choose our family, but I would choose you a million times over without a second thought. Mom, you taught me to be grateful, and today I want to be grateful to you. Mother's Day is just around the corner, and it becomes a perfect excuse to thank you for always thinking of me as a priority. For me, it is an honor to have you as a mother. I love that you continue to accompany me on this path of life, being able to go to your house when my body asks for rest and finding you as the refuge you have always been.
